Perfect playing conditions greeted players and fans at the BRAWO Open in Braunschweig on Wednesday, as the ATP Challenger 125 tournament featured four second-round singles matches alongside the opening round of the doubles competition.

The standout performance came from Diego Dedura, who became the first player to reach the quarterfinals. The 18-year-old German, fresh off his three-set victory over Clement Tabur, produced another confident display to defeat Czech Dalibor Svrcina 6-3, 7-5. Sticking to his aggressive game style throughout the match, Dedura handled the key moments with composure to continue his impressive run.

“It was a very demanding match, but the conditions were perfect for my game today. I was able to play aggressively and stay committed to my game plan,” Dedura said after the victory.

The tournament’s other remaining German hopes were unable to join him in the quarter-finals.

Teenager Max Schoenhaus, who had stunned top seed Roman Andres Burruchaga in the opening round, was edged out by former world No. 37 Laslo Djere. The experienced Serbian remained composed in the crucial moments to secure a 7-5, 6-4 victory.

Max Hans Rehberg also pushed his opponent to the limit before falling in three sets. After taking the opening set 6-2 against Jan Choinski, Rehberg was gradually reeled in as the British-German player raised his level, eventually completing a 2-6, 7-5, 6-4 comeback.

Another highlight of the day came in the battle between Spain’s Daniel Rincon and Austrian Sebastian Ofner. The former world No. 37 claimed the opening set, but Rincon fought back superbly, taking the second set before pulling away in the decider as Ofner began to fade physically. The Spaniard sealed a hard-earned 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 victory after two and a half hours to complete the quarter-final line-up.
