UTS Tour Heads To Sweden For Season-Ending Gothenburg Showdown

UTS Gothenburg

UTS Media Release, July 10, 2026

The UTS Tour, bringing together a unique, fast-paced tennis and electric atmosphere, will make its debut in Sweden this December with a new UTS Gothenburg event at the iconic Scandinavium arena.

UTS, created by coach and entrepreneur Patrick Mouratoglou, will bring eight of the world’s leading male players to the 10,000-seat arena on 12 and 13 December to compete for a prize money pot of US$1 million.

Previous UTS Tour competition winners include Casper Ruud, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Alex de Minaur, Ben Shelton, Andrey Rublev, and Gael Monfils. As the UTS Tour Super Stage, the final event of the year, UTS Gothenburg carries extra significance: It will decide the UTS Year-End World No. 1.

Tickets will go on sale in August when the names of the first players of the star-studded line up will be unveiled.

The competition runs across two days. Day one stages the quarter-finals, with four matches deciding who advances. Day two builds to the climax with classification matches, the semi-finals and the final — five matches in total to crown the champion and settle the year-end standings, with up to US$511,000 for the overall winner of the tournament.

Gothenburg will be the last stage of the 2026 season after Nimes, France in April, and the upcoming UTS Rio presented by XP in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, in July (16-18), where South American tennis superstars Joao Fonseca and Francisco Cerundolo have confirmed their participation.

UTS promises tennis like never before with an innovative, quickfire fan-friendly format designed to engage and encourage eye-catching tennis. Players compete in high intensity matches of 45 minutes each. They are only allowed one serve and can also play UTS bonus cards at pivotal moments during the match. Crowds are encouraged to cheer between and during the points, creating a high-energy atmosphere more akin to football and handball matches than traditional tennis events. Fans even hear from the players thanks to live interviews during the matches.

Patrick Mouratoglou, Founder of UTS : “Sweden, with its long-standing tennis heritage, is a perfect match for UTS Tour. We love the vibrant energy of Gothenburg, which is used to hosting premium events, and we can’t wait to set Scandinavium on fire with our high octane tennis tournament, gathering some of the best players in the world. The Swedish fans will undoubtedly fall in love with UTS’ electric atmosphere and fierce competition.”

We are pleased to welcome world-class tennis back to Gothenburg. We are committed to offering major events throughout the year, and UTS is a valuable addition to our winter events calendar. The tour’s Swedish debut in Gothenburg further strengthens the city’s position as the Nordic capital of events,” says Magnus Hallberg, Deputy CEO and Head of Events at Göteborg & Co.

We are proud that the UTS Tour has chosen Scandinavium. We welcome initiatives that challenge traditional formats and create new ways to experience sport. It’s a perfect fit for Scandinavium and for Gothenburg audiences,” Lotta Nibell, CEO at Got Event.

This is the second UTS event in Northern Europe after UTS Oslo opened the 2024 UTS circuit. The Scandinavium will follow in the footsteps of iconic venues like Forest Hills in New York City, the Copper Box Arena in London and the Arènes de Nîmes in France. Los Angeles, Frankfurt, Guadalajara and Hong Kong are among the other cities to have hosted ground-breaking UTS Tour events.
