Rede Tenis celebrated a historic week at Wimbledon after its players captured one junior doubles title and one runner-up finish, marking one of the project’s greatest achievements on the Grand Slam stage.

On Saturday, Guto Miguel partnered Slovenia’s Ziga Sesko to win the boys’ doubles title. The top seeds defeated Americans Michael Antonius and Andrew Johnson 6-1, 6-4 to lift the trophy. With the victory, the Brazilian matched the achievement of Orlando Luz and Marcelo Zormann, the last Brazilians to win the Wimbledon boys’ doubles title in 2014.

Currently the world No. 1 in the ITF junior singles rankings and this year’s Roland Garros junior champion, Guto said the doubles success helped him put his earlier singles disappointment into perspective.

“I’m very happy with this achievement. I was really disappointed with my singles result earlier in the week, but Ziga and I kept progressing in doubles. Today I woke up with a different mindset, grateful to God for this opportunity. At times I focused too much on my singles loss instead of appreciating everything I was experiencing. I’m very happy to win this doubles title with Ziga. I also want to thank all the Brazilian fans for their support. We’re living through a very special moment for Brazilian tennis, and it’s incredibly rewarding to be part of it,” he said.

In the girls’ doubles event, Nauhany Silva and Victoria Barros, who also came through the Rede Tenis programme, finished as runners-up after a closely contested final against Czech pair Jana Kovackova and Katerina Zajickova. The Brazilians were narrowly defeated 7-6(7), 6-7(5), 10-6 in the match tie-break.

Despite the loss, Nauhany reflected positively on the week and the experience gained throughout the tournament.

“It was a great week, even if the final result wasn’t what we wanted. We gave everything we had, physically and mentally, and it was a very tough match. We’ll take all the positives from this week while continuing to improve. Victoria and I developed great chemistry on court, and that made a big difference. Of course we wanted to win the title, but reaching a Grand Slam final is already very special. I’m grateful for everything we experienced here and for this runner-up finish. I’d like to thank Victoria for being such a great partner, and also the Brazilian fans who supported us throughout the week,” she said.

Rede Tenis head coach Leo Azevedo described the results as another major milestone for the programme and a reflection of its long-term player development.

“This is a very special achievement for all of us. Guto has now won his second consecutive junior Grand Slam doubles title after Roland Garros, while Nana reached her first Grand Slam final alongside Victoria, who was also part of Rede Tênis. It’s the first time in the project’s history that we have had two players competing in Wimbledon finals. More important than the results themselves is seeing the development of these young athletes over the years. These achievements confirm that our work is being carried out with great care and consistency. They show that we are on the right path, and everyone involved with Rede Tênis can be extremely proud,” Azevedo said.
