SAN MARINO/STARNBERG, July 14, 2026
The 33rd edition of the Internazionali di Tennis San Marino Open promises another week of world-class tennis, with an exceptionally deep field assembled for the ATP Challenger 125 tournament, taking place from July 26 to August 2 at the Centro Tennis Cassa di Risparmio di Fonte dell’Ovo.
One of the most prestigious stops on the ATP Challenger Tour, the tournament will once again attract an impressive mix of established stars, rising talents and former ATP Tour champions. Fans unable to attend in person will also be able to follow the action live on SuperTennis, which begins broadcasting the main-draw matches from Tuesday, July 28.
Leading the entry list is Dino Prizmic of Croatia, who arrives at a career-high World No. 83 after another impressive season. Last year’s San Marino finalist has continued his rapid rise in 2026, recording notable victories over Ben Shelton in Madrid and both Novak Djokovic and Ugo Humbert in Rome en route to the fourth round.
Joining him inside the world’s Top 100 is Argentina’s Francisco Comesana (World No. 94), who reached the third round at Roland Garros and has established himself as one of the strongest clay-court players on the Challenger circuit after reaching the ATP 500 semifinals in Rio de Janeiro last season.
Another major title contender is fellow Argentine Facundo Diaz Acosta (World No. 110), arguably one of the hottest players on the ATP Challenger Tour. The left-hander has already captured four Challenger titles in 2026—winning in Tigre, Sao Leopoldo, Francavilla al Mare and Milan—and also reached the final in Poznan and the semifinals in Braunschweig. After climbing as high as World No. 47, the 25-year-old is aiming for a return to the ATP Top 100.
Bolivia’s Hugo Dellien also arrives in excellent form after lifting the Challenger trophy in Trieste, while Finland’s powerful Otto Virtanen and rapidly improving Lithuanian Vilius Gaubas are expected to thrive in San Marino’s altitude conditions.
Experience will also be well represented. Former World No. 16 Nikoloz Basilashvili, a five-time ATP Tour champion, joins an impressive field that includes 2024 San Marino champion Alexandre Muller, who lifted the trophy before breaking into the world’s Top 40. Spain’s Pedro Martinez, a former World No. 36 and another accomplished clay-court specialist, further strengthens the line-up.
Even the alternate list reflects the tournament’s outstanding depth. Former World No. 16 Nicolas Jarry, an ATP Masters 1000 finalist in Rome, and former World No. 27 Laslo Djere, a three-time ATP Tour champion and recent Challenger semifinalist, are currently waiting for a place in the main draw.
Italy will be represented by Andrea Pellegrino, Francesco Maestrelli, Luca Nardi and Marco Cecchinato, all hoping to make a deep run in front of the home crowd.
