The 2026 WTT Alpacem Nova Gorica Open came to a successful conclusion on Sunday, with Greece’s Dimitris Sakellaridis emerging as the tournament champion. The World Tennis Tour event, which featured a USD 15,000 prize fund, brought together a strong international field and delivered a high-quality final in front of approximately one hundred spectators.
Sakellaridis sealed the title with an impressive victory over Italian finalist Luca Castagnolo, confirming his excellent form throughout the week and adding an important trophy to his growing career achievements. The Greek handled the occasion with confidence and composure, producing the decisive tennis in the closing stages of the championship match.
Tournament organisers praised both finalists and thanked the fans for creating a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere during the closing day.
“The third edition of the Alpacem Nova Gorica Open ended successfully with an excellent final between a Greek and an Italian player, and the title went to Greece,” the organisers said. “We sincerely thank everyone who came to support the tournament and helped create a wonderful sporting atmosphere.”
The organisers also expressed their gratitude to Tennis Slovenia for its trust and support, as well as to the Municipality of Nova Gorica and the tournament’s general sponsor Alpacem, whose contribution was essential for staging the event.
With the tournament being organised at a very high level, the organisers said they are confident that the Alpacem Nova Gorica Open will continue to grow and return even stronger in 2027.
