Tennis Australia Media Release, July 21, 2026
Tennis fans will be able to secure their place at the Australian Open earlier than ever, with AO 2027 tickets set to go on sale next month.
The move follows a record-breaking Australian Open 2026, which attracted 1,368,043 fans across the three-week event including 217,999 people during AO Opening Week.
With demand continuing to surge across all ticket categories, fans are encouraged to purchase early to avoid missing out on their preferred sessions and experiences, and to take advantage of early bird pricing (available until 30 November) for the popular Ground Pass.
“The Australian Open is more than a tennis event – it’s one of the biggest sports and entertainment events in the world and we want to give fans more time than ever to plan their visit and lock in the sessions that suit them best,” Tennis Australia Chief Commercial Officer Cedric Cornelis said.
“Starting at just $49*, the AO Ground Pass is one of the best value sporting tickets in the world. The price hasn’t increased since 2019 and we expect demand for AO 2027, particularly week one of the main draw, to be stronger than ever. With this in mind, the daily allocations will be capped for the first time.
“This decision reflects the growing popularity of the AO and will help ensure fans are able to make the most of everything on offer across the precinct. If week one is on your radar, getting tickets early is the best way to avoid missing out.”
Tickets go on sale to the public from 12.00pm on Thursday 13 August, via Ticketmaster.
The Mastercard Presale opens on 5 August, and AO Extras Pre-sale runs from 6-12 August.
Fans can choose from a wide range of ticket options across Rod Laver Arena, Margaret Court Arena and John Cain Arena, along with Ground Passes that provide access to the vibrant Australian Open precinct, including spectacular tennis, live entertainment, dining and fun experiences for the whole family.
In a continued commitment to be open for all’, the AO’s Accessibility Pre-sale returns for a second year, from 28 July until 4 August. The initiative once again gives fans with accessibility needs priority access to tickets.
Arena tickets available in the Accessibility Pre-sale include accessible seating bays, ease-of-access seating, enhanced vision seating, and dedicated seating for fans who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Further details on session times, match scheduling and event programming will be announced closer to the tournament.
