At just 18 years old, Carolina Bohrer captured the first professional singles title of her career on Sunday, defeating fellow Brazilian Luiza Fullana 6-2, 7-6(3) in an all-Brazilian final at the Mantiqueira Pro Series – ITF W15 in Campos do Jordao. The match lasted one hour and 58 minutes at the Campos do Jordão Tennis Club.
The fourth-seeded Bohrer, currently ranked No. 731 in the world, avenged her semifinal defeat to Fullana from the previous week. Fullana, the No. 3 seed and world No. 507, had won their first meeting 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 before going on to claim the seventh professional title of her career, all of them on home soil.
This time, it was Bohrer who emerged victorious and lifted the biggest trophy of her young career.
“This title gives me extra motivation for Barueri, and my confidence is high. I really enjoy playing on hard courts, and even more so at altitude,” Bohrer said. “I came to Campos do Jordão on my own, without my parents and family, and at times I felt a little lonely being here. That makes me even happier with everything I have achieved over these past two weeks.”
“Winning my first professional singles title in Brazil is very special. Now I’m ready for Barueri, and I hope I can play very well there and give my best on court,” added Bohrer, who currently lives in the United States.
The title gives the Brazilian 15 valuable ranking points and is expected to lift her into the world’s Top 700 for the first time. She also earned $2,352 in prize money. Fullana collected 10 ranking points and $1,470 as runner-up.
Candiotto and Lan Mi Take Doubles Title
Brazil also celebrated success in the doubles event, with Ana Candiotto and China’s Lan Mi claiming the World Tennis Tour W15 title on Saturday.
The top seeds lived up to their billing, defeating Brazilian pair Luiza Fullana and Marjorie Souza 6-0, 7-5 in one hour and 13 minutes.
For 22-year-old Candiotto, it was the 19th professional doubles title of her career and her fourth of the 2026 season. Earlier this year, the Brazilian won W15 titles in Santiago, Luque and Rio Claro.
Mantiqueira Pro Series Moves to Barueri
Bohrer’s triumph brings two consecutive weeks of professional women’s tennis in Campos do Jordao to a close. Fullana won the opening World Tennis Tour W15 event, while Bohrer, who reached the semifinals in the first tournament, responded one week later by claiming the first professional singles title of her career.
The circuit now moves to Barueri, São Paulo, for the Tenis Paulista Pro Series – ITF W35. The tournament begins Monday, August 24, with qualifying and runs through Sunday, August 30, at the Alphaville Tennis Club.
The event will feature some of Brazil’s leading players alongside international competitors, with admission free to spectators.
