The ATP has released the official entry list for the second edition of the Costa do Sauipe Open, which will take place from November 1 to 8 at Costa do Sauipe Resorts in Bahia, Brazil. As the country’s only ATP Challenger 125 event and the second-largest men’s tennis tournament in Brazil, behind only the Rio Open, the competition boasts a strong international field.

With a total prize money of US$225,000 and 125 ATP Ranking points on offer for the champion, the tournament has attracted three players currently ranked inside the world’s top 100. The entry cut-off stands at No. 224 in the ATP Rankings. Matches will be played on the resort’s newly renovated clay courts, while the Tennis Village will offer a variety of activities and entertainment for spectators throughout the week.

Among the main attractions are two Brazilian players looking to make the most of the opportunity to compete on home soil. Gustavo Heide, currently ranked No. 116 in the world, arrives in Bahia at the highest position of his professional career. He will be joined by Thiago Wild, who sits at No. 136 and previously reached a career-high ranking of No. 58 in 2024. Both will enjoy the support of a predominantly Brazilian crowd in the picturesque setting of Costa do Sauípe, although competition for valuable ranking points is expected to be fierce.

The event also comes at a particularly important stage of the tennis calendar. With the season approaching its conclusion, players will be looking to improve their world rankings and strengthen their chances of securing direct entry into the main draw of the Australian Open, the first Grand Slam of 2027.

The international entry list features players from several countries and different generations of the professional circuit. Leading the field is defending champion Roman Andres Burruchaga of Argentina, currently ranked No. 62 in the world. He will be joined by Argentines Facundo Diaz Acosta (No. 69) and Camilo Ugo Carabelli (No. 77), completing the trio of Top 100 players confirmed for the tournament.

Other notable names include Portugal’s Henrique Rocha, Argentina’s Francisco Comesana and Bolivia’s Juan Carlos Prado Angelo, further underlining the international appeal of the event.

More than tennis

The Costa do Sauípe Open aims to combine world-class tennis with music and entertainment, offering spectators a comprehensive experience throughout tournament week.

The official opening ceremony will feature a live performance by Brazilian singer and musician Carlinhos Brown, who will also perform the Brazilian national anthem. The musical programme will continue with an appearance by Victor Clay, while Banda Jammil will headline the closing celebrations, bringing the tournament to a fitting finale inspired by the energy and cultural identity of Bahia.

Tickets are available online, with visitors also able to purchase complete accommodation packages for the tournament week.
