COSTA DO SAUIPE/STARNBERG, November 8, 2026
Thiago Seyboth Wild delighted the home crowd at the Costa do Sauipe Open on Saturday, defeating top seed Facundo Diaz Acosta of Argentina 7-6(5), 6-4 to reach the final of the ATP Challenger 125 event. The Brazilian produced a composed performance in front of packed stands to book his place in Sunday’s championship match at the biggest Challenger tournament in Brazil.
The opening set was closely contested, with neither player able to establish a decisive advantage. Both players showed their quality in a tight battle that was eventually settled in a tie-break, where Seyboth Wild came out on top 7-6(5).
The Brazilian carried that momentum into the second set, securing an early break in the third game. Although he had to fend off three break points along the way, Seyboth Wild remained solid on serve and successfully protected his advantage to close out the match 6-4.

“It was a great match. Facundo has had an excellent season and, statistically speaking, his numbers have even been better than mine. I had an injury and spent some time away from the game. I’m happy to come away with the win, happy to be back in the Top 100 and pleased with my performance. But there’s still one more match to play, the week isn’t over yet. I hope I can count on the crowd’s support again tomorrow,” Seyboth Wild said.
The Brazilian will face second seed Camilo Ugo Carabelli in Sunday’s final, scheduled to begin at 4 pm local time, with live coverage on ESPN 3 and Disney+.
The Argentine secured his place in the final with an impressive 6-3, 6-1 victory over Peru’s Gonzalo Bueno, needing just 80 minutes to complete the job.
Carabelli was pleased with his performance and is looking forward to making the most of the recovery time ahead of the title match.
“I’m very happy with my level today. I played really well, served well and got through the match quickly. It’s extremely hot here, so the more time you can spend resting, the better. I want to make the most of that before the final. There were a lot of people supporting me today, and I hope they’ll be there again tomorrow,” the Argentine said.
The head-to-head record favours Carabelli, who has won four of their six previous encounters. Seyboth Wild has recorded two victories against his upcoming opponent.
Kolar and Rodriguez Taverna Claim Doubles Title
Saturday also saw the doubles final, with Zdenek Kolar of the Czech Republic and Argentina’s Santiago Rodriguez Taverna lifting the trophy. The duo defeated Ecuador’s Diego Hidalgo and Argentina’s Andres Molteni 6-4, 6-4 to secure the ATP Challenger 125 doubles title at Costa do Sauipe.
The victory was particularly special for Kolar, who celebrated the 25th doubles title of his career.
The champions earned US$9,900 in prize money and 125 ATP doubles ranking points. The runners-up received US$5,760 and 75 ranking points.
