SOFIA, November 15, 2016

Garanti Koza Sofia Open’s second edition will use hawk-eye system for the first time in its history. This will help players and umpires solving any debatable situations on the court.

The event will take place in “Armeec Arena” between 5th and 12th of February, 2017.

“Hawk-eye is a very good development to raise the standard in Sofia. Most but not all ATP 250 tournaments have it, and the audience in the stadium in Sofia will love it”, said the tournament director Paul McNamee.

The Polish referee Marta Mrozinska will be responsible for the video surveillance with the hawk-eye in Sofia.

For second consecutive year Vesselina Doneva will be Referee of the tournament. Doneva will be assisted by Lubomir Badinski. Antoaneta Dimitrova will be the chief umpire.

The ATP Supervisor will be again Carlos Sanches from Portugal.

Brazilian Carlos Bernardes, Mohamed El Jennati (MAR) and Blaze Trifunovski (NZ) will return to Bulgaria as part of the four the chair umpires. The new face in Sofia in 2017 will be the Spanish Umpire Jaume Campistol.
