VIENNA, December 9, 2016
In the course of this year’s edition of the Erste Bank Open 500, World No.1 Andy Murray demonstrated great tennis and crowned his performance in the Stadthalle of Vienna with the final success over Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. A couple of weeks later, the 29-year-old Scot finished the season at the very top of the ATP Rankings.
The fact that the organizers of the ATP 500 event were also able to realize a successful record was due to the fact that 57,000 spectators followed the matches during the nine tournament days. The next edition is going to take place from 21 to 29 October 2017 and it has already achieved a record number of ticket reservations and pre-orders.
“We are very pleased with the development of the tournament. The event attracts people from Austria but also tennis fans from foreign countries. We have already started to work on an attractive tournament for 2017. I talked to some players during the ATP World Tour Finals in London and I am very confident that we will once again be able to present a great line-up,” emphasizes tournament director Herwig Straka.
Public tickes sales for the 2017 edition will start on Monday, December 12. For more information and reservation please visit the tournament’s official website.
