NUSSLOCH, January 29, 2017
Mats Moraing clinched the 14th edition of the MLP-Cup, held at the Racket Center in Nussloch. The 24-year-old leftie emerged victorious from Sunday’s all-German-final with Daniel Masur, winning 7-6, 7-6.
In a match without any breaks, Moraing was more dominant with his serve, firing 20 aces and landing 73 per cent of his first service points. The World No. 432 won three points more than the top-seed of the $25,000 ITF Pro Circuit event. It is the second win for Moraing in as many meetings between the two.
By clinching his sixth Future crown, he takes away $3,240 in prize money as well as 27 ATP ranking points.
