Michal Przysiezny has become the first player from Poland to reach the singles final in the history of the €85,000 Wroclaw Open. In front of about 3,000 spectators inside Hala Orbita, the World No. 402 edged past fourth seed Quentin Halys from France, winning 7-6, 7-5 on Saturday afternoon.
Przysiezny fired 26 aces and capitalized on two of his five break point opportunities to advance in one hour and 18 minutes. “I invite all specatators to attend the final tomorrow as well, and I promise to win it,” Przysiezny told after the match.

Przysiezny will take on Jürgen Melzer on Sunday. The Austrian veteran knocked out the tournament’s number one Paul-Henri Mathieu of France 7-6, 6-1. Melzer saved all four break points he faced, converting two of his own to seal victory in one hour and 16 minutes.
Przysiezny and Melzer will meet for the first time. The 33-year-old Wroclaw resident could lift his ninth trophy on the ATP Challenger Tour, his first since Kyoto 2015. Melzer eyes his second title of the season, following his triumph in Budapest.
In the doubles final Mikhail Elgin from Russia and Ukrainian Denys Molchanov will face Adil Shamasdin of Canada and Andrei Vasilevski from Belarus.
