MAPFRE Renews Sponsorship Agreement With RFET And Nadal

BARCELONA, April 26, 2017

A new sponsorship agreement between MAPFRE, the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation (RFET) and Rafael Nadal, was announced on Tuesday at the sports center of the Real Club de Tennis Barcelona-1899. The deal cements the relationship between the three parties for two more years, with an optional extension of one year.

The event has been attended by the Vice-President of MAPFRE, Antonio Nuñez, the President of the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation, Miguel Díaz, as well as former worldn number one Rafael Nadal, who have congratulated each other on the extension of a relationship that has delivered great results over the past few years.

The Vice-President of MAPFRE has been clear about MAPFRE’s commitment: “Our company will believe in tennis and will support it unconditionally. We back our athletes, from our younger players to the international stars like Rafa. We share the same values, sacrifice, effort, strength, all of which are crucial in this sport and are embodied in Rafa.”

Miguel Díaz also praised this agreements: “MAPFRE’s support is crucial for Spanish tennis. They are doing a tremendous job with the younger generations and they have increased their funds for scholarships, from €90.000 to €45.000. Having an athlete like Rafa, the best tennis player in Spanish history, is extremely important because of what he represents. We have to thank Rafa for everything he has given us and we hope that he will be playing at his best level for at least 4 or 5 more years.”

At the end of the event, Rafa Nadal expressed his gratitude for MAPFRE for their support: “Tennis needs backing and MAPFRE is and will always be my best travel companion. I hope other companies end up following MAPFRE’s example and help Spanish tennis become a global benchmark”, the Spaniard concluded.
