SEVILLA, September 10, 2017

After winning his first ATP Challenger Tour title earlier this year at the age of 16 years, 10 months, Félix Auger-Aliassime from Canada captured his second Challenger crown on Saturday at the €64,000 LV Copa Sevilla.

Auger-Aliassime, who was playing his third tournament since returning from a left wrist injury, fought back to defeat Spaniard Inigo Cervantes 6-, 6-3, 6-3 in Saturday’s final. The 17-year-old erased a 6-7, 0-3 deficit, winning nine straight games and he never looked back. He becomes the third player in history to win multiple ATP Challenger titles by the age of 17, joining Rafael Nadal and Richard Gasquet in this exclusive club. The teenager takes away €9,200 in prize money as well as 90 ATP ranking points

For the second straight year, the Seville champion is a 17-year-old after Norway’s Casper Ruud was crowned champion in 2016.

Thanks to his title, Auger-Aliassime will enter the top 200 on the ATP World Tour rankings for the first time at no. 168 on Monday and will be the youngest player ranked inside the top 200. He will now head to Bosnia and Herzegovina to play the €43,000 Banja Luka Challenger where he will face Slovenia’s Blaz Rola in the opening round.
