Gregoire Barrere won eigtht matches in nine days to capture the title of the inaugural €43,000 Play In Challenger held on indoor hard courts of the Complexe Tenistique Marcel Bernard in Lille. The 24-year-old French qualifier won eight matches in nine days and eventually defeated Tobias Kamke of Germany in Sunday’s singles final 6-1, 6-4.

Barrere, currently ranked World No. 406, saved three of the four break points he faced, converting four of his own to secure victory in one hour and 11 minutes. Barrere, who clinched five ITF Pro Circuit titles, two of them in 2018, lifted his maiden trophy on the ATP Challenger Tour. The right hander from Charenton-le-Pont earns €6,190 in prize money as well as 80 ATP ranking points.
On Saturday, Hugo Nys of France and Tim Pütz from Germany took the doubles title. The unseeded tandem fought past No. 4 seeded Indians Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and Purav Raja 7-6, 1-6, 10-7. The encounter lasted one hour and 28 minutes.
