Geoffrey Blancaneaux won the $15,000 ITF Pro Circuit event in Opatija, the final stop of the ISTARSKA RIVIJERA, a three-week clay-court-swing and oldest international tennis event held in Croatia. The 19-year-old Frenchman fought past top seed Nino Serdarusic of Croatia 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 in Sunday’s singles final.
Second favourite Blancaneaux capitalized on five of his 13 break point opportunities and outpointed his opponent 88-67 to prevail after two hours and 19 minutes. The teenager from Paris clinched his fifth Futures trophy, his first of the season. Blancaneaux took away $1,944 in prize money as well as 18 ATP Ranking points. He reaches a new career high World No. 276.

On Saturday, Tomas Lipovsek Puches of Argentina and Brazilian Bruno Sant’Anna clinched the doubles crown. The second seeds beat Ljubomir Celebic from Macedonia and Peter Nagy of Hungary 6-4, 6-1. The final lasted 50 minutes.
