TUNIS, April 22, 2018
Guido Andreozzi is the champion of the 14th edition of the €75,000 Tunis Open held on the clay courts of the Tennis Club de Tunis. The 26-year-old Argentine benefited from the retirement of Spanish qualifier Daniel Gimeno-Traver, leading 6-2, 3-0 in Sunday’s singles final.
Andreozzi saved all three break points he faced and converted four of his own before the World No. 272 from Valencia was forced to stop the match after 54 minutes due to illness.
Andreozzi clinched his second title of the season following his triumph in Punta del Este, Uruguay. By lifting his sixth ATP Challenger career crown, the Buenas Aires native takes away $10,800 in prize money as well as 90 ATP ranking points. He is projected to rise 34 spots to World No. 127 on Monday.
