Jurij Rodionov has qualified for his first main draw on the ATP World Tour. The 19-year-old Austrian beat Italy’s Lorenzo Sonego 6-1, 6-4 at the Generali Open in Kitzbühel on Sunday.
Rodionov didn’t face a break point, capitalizing on three of his own seven chances to advance in one hour and eight minutes. The teenager will face compatriot and wild card entry Dennis Novak in his main draw debut on home soil. The all-Austrian-clash will take place on Monday on Centre Court.
Denis Istomin (will face Federico Delbonis in main draw), Yannick Hanfmann (will face Jaume Munar) and Martin Klizan also prevailed in the final round of the qualifying. Klizan will take on Sebastian Ofner in the opening round. The winner of this match will play top seed Dominic Thiem.
