In the last tour-level clay-court event of 2018, Dominic Thiem will try to capture his third trophy of the campaign at the Generali Open, held in Kitzbühel. The 24-year-old Austrian is pursuing his first ATP World Tour triumph on home soil and his third title of the season.

Defending champion Philipp Kohlschreiber, the second seed, is one of two players in the field who have claimed victory in Kitzbühel twice. Fourth seed Robin Haase lifted back-to-back trophies in 2011 and 2012.

ATP World Tour returns to Mexico

One year ago, Sam Querrey completed the Mexican double when he lifted the trophy in Los Cabos. If he hopes to retain a title for the second time in his career (Los Angeles, 2009-10), he will have to overcome a tough field at the Abierto de Tenis Mifel presentado por Cinemex.

But it will not be easy against the likes of Miami titlist John Isner, 2017 Nitto ATP Finals runner-up David Goffin, former World No. 1 Andy Murray and more. There is also a strong #NextGenATP contingent in the field, including Canadian Denis Shapovalov, Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas and US-American Frances Tiafoe.
