Skander Mansouri clinched his maiden singles title at the BGFI Noah Tour, the first ITF Pro Circuit men’s event held at the Tennis Club De Yaoundé in Cameroon . The 23-year-old from Tunisia rallied past fifth seeded Frenchman Evan Furness 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 in Sunday’s final.
Mansouri, who didn’t drop a set en route to the title match, fired 16 aces, breaking his opponent’s serve three times to prevail after one hour and 34 minutes.
By lifting the trophy of the $25,000 hard-court tournament, Mansouri takes away $3,600 in prize money as well as 25 ATP ranking points.
On Saturday, the Tunis native took the doubles crown. Mansouri and his compatriot Aziz Dougaz beat Sadio Doumbia of France and Diego Matos from Brazil 6-4, 6-7(5), 10-8 in the final. The encounter lasted one hour and 39 minutes.
