VIENNA, December 5, 2018
Tickets for the 2019 edition of the Erste Bank Open 500 in Vienna will go on sale on Thursday, December 6. This was announced by the organizers of the ATP 500 indoor-event.
Local favourite Dominic Thiem as well as last year’s runner-up Kei Nishikori will return to the capital city of Austria from 19 to 27 October 2019. The 28-year-old Japanese told right after the final that he will come to Vienna next year.
“Kei Nishikori was extremely enthusiastic about both the tournament and the city of Vienna with its numerous attractions,” tournament director Herwig Straka said.
“The visit of the Vienna State Opera together with some other top players made a lasting impression on him, and he was also impressed by the great atmosphere during the matches inside the Stadthalle. I have never seen a player making his decision to enter next year’s event one day after the finals. Of course, we are delighted that Kei Nishikori will be present at the Erste Bank Open 500 in 2019,” said Straka.
