Corentin Denolly clinched his first singles title of the season at the BGFI Noah Tour, the second ITF Pro Circuit men’s event held at the Tennis Club De Yaoundé in Cameroon . The 21-year-old from France defeated last week’s champion Skander Mansouri of Tunisia 7-6(3), 6-4 in Saturday’s singles final.
Denolly withstood 12 aces, hitting two of his own to secure victory in one hour and 12 minutes. By lifting the trophy of the $25,000 hard-court tournament, Denolly takes away $3,600 in prize money as well as 25 ATP ranking points.
Mansouri and his compatriot Aziz Dougaz won the doubles title. The No. 2 seeds defeated the tournament’s top seeded pair Sadio Doumbia of France and Diego Matos from Brazil 6-4, 6-2. The final on Friday lasted 52 minutes.
