NÜRNBERG, May 19, 2019

The draw ceremony for the Nürnberger Versicherungscup, to be held at the venue of the 1. FC Nürnberg from 18 -25 May, has been made at the Lotto Bayern Akademie. Defending champion Johanna Larsson from Sweden and two-time Grand Slam champion in singles Svetlana Kuznetsova of Russia will headline first-round action at the WTA International event.

Top seed Yulia Putintseva from Kazakhstan will take on Dalila Jakupovic of Slovenia and No. 2 seed Katerina Siniakova from the Czech Republic will open her title bid against Mandy Minella of Luxemburg.

German wild card entry Sabine Lisicki will face third favourite Ajla Tomljanovic of Australia. “I know Ajla very well. Whether that’s an advantage or a disadvantage, I do not know. What I know is that I really enjoy playing at home. There are so many good players in Germany, unfortunately too few tournaments,” said Lisicki.
