Only a couple of days ahead of the start of the 27th edition of the Gerry Weber Open, organizers of the grass-court event in Halle announced a new title sponsor. The ATP 500 tournament has been re-named the NOVENTI Open.

NOVENTI, based in Munich, combines a large number of separate individual companies as a holding company. These companies have an important thing in common: they are all active in the healthcare market. The core target groups are pharmacies, other service providers, care services, and physicians.

The sponsorship contract lasts for three years through 2021. Earlier in the year, fashion manufacturer and retailer Gerry Weber, based in Westfalia, filed for insolvency under its own management. The tournament is still organized by the Gerry Weber Management & Event GmbH & Co. OHG. Ralf Weber remains tournament director. The 2019 edition will be held from 15 to 23 June.
