M15 Kamen GER – Peter Heller triumphs on home soil

The fourth edition of the Kamen Open, held at the venue of the Vfl Tennis Kamen 1929 e.V., concluded with the title win of Peter Heller from Germany.

The 26-year-old Cham native, who was leading the ITF ranking earlier this season, knocked off Bulgarian No. 4 seed Alexander Lazarov in the semi-finals in three sets.

Top seeded runner-up Javier Barranco Cosano from Spain defeated German Pascal Mais in the stage of the last four. Mais had to retire after losing the first set 4-6.

With temperatures about 37 degrees Celsius, No. 2 seeded Heller outpointed his 20-year-old rival after two hours and 50 minutes 96-89 to get the final win by the score of 7-5, 3-6, 6-3. After playing tournaments on the ATP Challenger tour in the last months, he celebrated his 11th title on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

„I am happy to eventually win another tournament, as my last title win took place almost eight months ago,” Heller commented after the championship match.  

M15 Curitiba BRA – Juan Pablo Ficovich clinches back-to-back titles in Brazil 

Juan Pablo Ficovich from Argentina got the title of the Anzo II – Tennis Classic, which was held at the Graciosa County Club in Curitiba, to celebrate his second consecutive trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

The 22-year-old Buenos Aires native defeated Brazilian No. No. 4 seed Felipe Meligeni Rodrigues Alves in the stage of the final four in straight sets.

25-year-old Joao Pedro Sorgi, who was ranked ITF No. 8 as a junior, emerged victorious from the all-Brazilian semi-final encounter versus wildcard entry Igor Marcondes in two clear sets.

No. 2 seeded Ficovich fired 10 aces during the title match to earn a 6-3, 7-6 victory. After two hours and 19 minutes, he lifted his eighth trophy on the ITF Pro Circuit, all of them won on clay courts.

During the ceremony, Ficovich stated about his current situation: „I feel prepared to play in bigger tournaments, especially because I believe that I live the best moment of my career and the confidence I now feel in my game. It was two perfect weeks in Brazil and I have a lot to celebrate for this moment. On the other hand, I’m sure there’s still a lot to improve if I want to evolve in the circuit.“

M25 Pardubice CZE – Manuel Guinard gets the trophy in Pardubice

The Pardubice Open 2019, hosted at LTC Pardubice, concluded with the victory of Manuel Guinard.

The 23-year-old Frenchman benefited from the retirement of ITF-entry Mariano Kestelboim from Argentina after winning the first set in the semi-finals with 6-1.

Young gun Lukas Klein from Slovakia defeated his top seed Vaclav Safranek of the Czech Republic in the stage of the final four in two sets.

Both players broke their opponent’s service five times in the title match. After two hours and 43 minutes, No. 2 seeded Guinard secured a 6-4, 5-7, 7-6 win to celebrate his fourth singles title on the ITF World Tennis Tour.  

M25 Arlon BEL – Jeroen Vanneste claims another title on home soil 

Jeroen Vanneste clinched the trophy of the Arlon Open by Real, which was held at Garisart Tennis Club in Arlon.

The 25-year-old Belgian, who entered the tournament by his ITF ranking, emerged victorious from the all-Belgian semi-final encounter against qualifier Yannick Vandenbulcke in straight sets.

Top seeded runner-up Juan Pablo Varillas from Peru knocked out No. 4 seeded Sandro Ehrat, who debuted for the Swiss Daviscup-Team last year, in two close sets.

In the title match, Vanneste won 84 per cent from his points on first service. After one hour and 57 minutes, he claimed a 7-5, 7-6 victory to lift his fourth trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour. It was the third title on Belgium soil for the Roeselare native.

M25 Montauban FRA – Teenager Thiago Seyboth Wild gets another title on clay

Top seeded Thiago Seyboth Wild got the crown of the Open de Tennis de Montauban2019, held at Association Tennis Montauban.

The 19-year-old Brazilian, who was ranked No.8 in ITF Juniors last year, battled past French Dan Added in the stage of the final four in straight sets.

Last year`s No. 2 in ITF Juniors rankings Hugo Gaston, who entered the tournament on position six, advanced from the all-French semi-final versus Jules Okala in three sets.

Winning 74 per cent of his first service points, Rio de Janeiro resident Seyboth Wild sealed a 6-4, 6-2 victory after 73 minutes to lift his third singles trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour, all of them won on clay court. 

M25 Palma del Rio ESP – Andres Artunedo Martinavarro seals victory on home soil 

25-year-old Andres Artunedo Martinavarro is the champion of the XXIV Open Cruzcampo De Palma Del Rio 2019, which was hosted at the venue of the Asociacion De Tenistas Palmenos.

The Spanish No. 6 seed emerged victorious from the semi-final encounter versus French No. 4 seed Tom Jomby in straight sets.

23-year-old Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech booked his spot in the final by defeating Ruan Roelofse from South Africa in two clear sets.

Barcelona resident Artunedo Martinavarro came back from a set down in the title match, to secure a 6-7, 6-1, 6-4 victory. He celebrated his 14th title on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

M25 Yinchuan CHN – Yuta Shimizu claims his second title of the season

Left handed Yuta Shimizu triumphed at the M25 Yinchuan tournament, which was held at Ningxia Stadium.

The 20-year-old Japanese, who rallied past Chinese No. 8 seed Runhao Hua in the semi-finals, faced top seeded Yan Bai from China in the title match.

Making two points more than his 30-year old rival with 58-56, No. 3 seeded Shimizu benefited from the retirement of Bai, trailing 4-6, 3-3. After 81 minutes, the former No. 5 in ITF Junior rankings lifted his fifth trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour. 

M15 Setubal POR – Nuno Borges wins at home 

Nuno Borges prevailed at the RE/MAX Lounge Setubal Open, hosted at Club de Tenis de Setubal, without dropping a set the entire week.

The 22-year-old Portuguese, made the last step to the final in beating the US-American No. 7 seed Henry Craig.

No. 4 seeded veteran Fred Gil from Portugal, who was previously ranked ATP No. 62, stopped the run of French top seed Hugo Grenier in the semi-finals in straight sets.

Capitalizing on two of his nine break point chances without facing a break point, No. 3 seeded Borges secured the final win with 6-3, 6-4, to lift his fifth career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour. 

“It was a good week. I played some solid tennis and I am looking forward to the upcoming week,” Borges said.

M15 Cancun MEX – Axel Geller prevails in Cancun 

Argentinian Axel Geller dominated the Cancun Tennis Cup, held at Cancun Tennis Academy, without losing a set during the competition.

The 20-year-old booked the spot in the title match by defeating Mexican No. 2 seed Gerardo Lopez Villasenor.

No. 4 seeded runner-up Nick Chappell from the United States battled past Canadian top seed Benjamin Sigouin, who was ranked ITF No. 4 as a junior, in the semi-finals in two sets.

Both players served seven aces during the title match. After one hour and 57 minutes, No. 3 seeded Geller outpointed his 26-year-old 79-69 to secure a 6-3, 7-6 victory. The Buenos Aires resident lifted his second career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour. 

M15 Alkmaar NED – Enrico Dalla Valle celebrates his maiden trophy 

Top seeded Enrico Dalla Valle got the crown of the ITF M15 tournament in Alkmaar, hosted at TC Alkmaar, to lift his first career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

The 21-year-old Italian emerged victorious from the semi-final encounter versus Dutch teenager Jesper De Jong in straight sets.

No. 6 seeded Niels Lootsma from the Netherlands defeated Argentinian No. 8 seed Matias Zukas in the stage of the last four in three sets. 

Ravenna native Dalla Valle served nine aces during the two hours and 17 minutes lasting title match, to get the win against his 24-year-old rival by the score of 7-6, 6-4. 

M15 Tabarka TUN – Manuel Pena Lopez claims his maiden title on the ITF Pro Circuit 

21-year-old Manuel Pena Lopez is the champion of the Magic Tours tournament, held at Thabraca Magic Hotel. 

In the stage of the final four, the Argentinian No. 5 seed rallied past No. 8 seeded Andrey Chepelev from Russia in two clear sets.

19-year-old unseeded Pol Martin Tiffon from Spain knocked off Russian veteran Ivan Nedelko, who entered the tournament on position two, in three sets.

Breaking his opponent four times by dropping two service games, Pena Lopez secured a 6-1, 2-6, 6-2 win in the title match after two hours and 22 minutes. The No. 5 seed celebrated his first singles trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

M15 Rochester USA – Diego Hidalgo captures back-to-back titles in the USA 

Following his title in Orlando/Florida last week, Diego Hidalgo claimed the trophy of the LB Rochester ITF World Tennis Tour Event, which was held at Tennis Club of Rochester.

The 26-year-old Colombian, who entered the competition on position four, took the last step to the final in beating US-American qualifier Kyle Seelig in two close sets.

No. 5 seeded runner-up Strong Kirchheimer from the United States battled past unseeded Simon Freund from Sweden in the stage of the last four in straight sets.

Lasting two hours and 13 minutes, Hidalgo sealed a 7-6, 7-6 victory against his 24-year-old opponent. The former college tennis player from the University of Florida celebrated his second career title on the ITF Pro Circuit.

M15 Harare ZIM – Benjamin Lock crowns his perfect week at home 

The M15 Harare tournament, hosted at Harare Sports Club, concluded with the triumph of Benjamin Lock. In addition to his championship in the singles competition, he clinched the doubles title together with his brother Courtney John Lock.

The 26-year-old Harare native, who entered the tournament on position two, faced his top seeded countryman Takanyi Garanganga in the title match. 28-year-old Garanganga claimed the title last week at the same place

Converting four of his five break point opportunities without facing a break point, Lock claimed the final win in 69 minutes with 6-4, 6-0, to lift his sixth trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

M15 Anseong KOR – Maiden title on the ITF Pro Circuit for Haru Inoue 

Unseeded Haru Inoue triumphed at the ITF M15 tournament in Anseong, which was held at Anseong Sports Complex Tennis Courts, to lift his first trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

The 22-year-old Japanese, who battled past Australian No. 4 seed Thomas Fancutt in the semi-finals in straight sets, met Korean No. 2 seed Cheong-Eui Kim in the title match.

Breaking his 29-year-old rival six times by dropping two service games, Inoue got the final win by the score of 6-4, 6-0 after 77 minutes.
