RENNES, October 17, 2015
Malek Jaziri and Igor Sijsling will compete in the tenth final of the Open de Rennes ATP Challenger on Sunday. The fourth seeded Tunisian rallied back from a set down to overcome Ivan Dodig 6-7, 6-3, 7-6. Jaziri withstood 17 aces, firing 10 of his own and saved all of the four break points he faced to prevail in two hours and 27 minutes.
In the second semi-final unseeded Igor Sijsling ended the winning streak of last week’s champion from Mons Illya Marchenko. The 28-year-old Dutch won 71% of his first service points and converted three of his nine break Point opportunities to advance after two hours and 17 minutes.
Jaziri and Sijsling will meet for the third time on the tour (1-1 in head to head records). Jaziri won the last encounter between the two in Dubai in 2014.
