Alexander Erler and Constantin Frantzen clinched their maiden doubles title at the inaugural Ismaning Open by Medicus. The German-Austrian combination defeated the all-German-tandem of Kevin Krawietz and Tim Sandkaulen, winning 2-6, 7-6, 10-8 in Saturday’s final.
In the singles semi-finals of the US-$ 10,000 ITF Future event top-seed Aldin Setkic rallied back from a set down to overcome Kevin Krawietz 3-6, 6-2, 6-1. The 27-year-old Bosnian won 70% of his first service points to seal victory in one hour and 57 minutes.
Setkic will face Johannes Haerteis in the final, who upset second seed Daniil Medvedev, winning 7-5, 6-4. The world number 768 from Germany didn’t lose his service and converted two of his five break points to prevail in one hour and 31 minutes.
“I played a solid match today and I am very satisfied with my performance. It will be my first final on the ITF Future Circuit tomorrow and I am really happy,” the 19-year-old from Nuremberg told afterwards.
