HAMBURG, December 19, 2019
Tickets to the 2020 Hamburg European Open are now on public sale, organizers of the ATP 500 event announced on Thursday. From today, fans can secure their place at the 114th edition of the Rothenbaum tournament to be held from July 11 to 19, featuring some of the world’s best players including World No. 4 Dominic Thiem.
The 26-year-old Austrian will make his fourth appearance in Germany’s second-largest city. Thiem’s best results came in 2018 and 2019 when he advanced to the quarterfinals. Nikoloz Basilashvili of Georgia captured his second successive Hamburg crown this year by defeating Andrey Rublev from Russia in the final. After the conclusion of this year’s tournament, further comprehensive modernization measures have started, which have a total volume of up to 10 million euros.
“After our premiere as a new organizer in 2019, when we were happy to welcome Alexander Zverev, a total of three top ten players and perfect weather, we are looking forward to another special edition. We can’t wait to inaugurate the new Rothenbaum Stadium,” tournament director Sandra Reichel said. “Our special thanks go to the patron Alexander Otto and his company ECE for their generous support. The stadium will give a fresh impetus to the tournament.”
The Hamburg European Open will once again welcome 32 top singles players and 16 doubles teams to the summer clay-court event as one of the 13 ATP Tour 500 stops. Early booking discounts are available until January 10, 2020. For tickets, please visit the tournament’s official homepage.
