For the first time the ATP Challenger Tour will come to Trieste, Italy. The inaugural Città Di Trieste with a total prize money of €88,520 will be held from August 22 to 30 at the Tennis Club Triestino.
The entry list is led by World No. 103 Alexei Popyrin of Australia. Marco Cecchinato, currently ranked World No. 113, leads a strong contingent of Italian players. He will be joined by compatriot Federico Gaio. Cedrik-Marcel Stebe of Germany will round out the top four ranked players.

The tournament is part of a five-week clay-court swing in Italy, which opens with an ATP Challenger 100 event in Todi, Umbria the week before. It will be the first event of the this category to be staged at the head of the Gulf of Trieste but the organizers have gained experience by hosting ITF World Tennis Tour tournaments with a prize money of $25,000 in the past three years.
The tournament will feature a 32-man-draw including three wild card entries and four qualifiers. The singles champion will earn €12,250 in prize money as well as 100 ATP Ranking points. Sixteen doubles teams will be in action. The winners will split €5,250 in prize money.
