Ruben Bemelmans is the champion of the 28th edition of the € 88,520 Challenger Cherbourg-La Manche held at the Complexe Sportif Chantereyne in Cherbourg en Cotentin, France. The 33-year-old Belgian defeated 35-year-old Lukas Rosol from the Czech Republic in a final between two unseeded veterans 6-4, 6-4.
Bemelmans booked his spot in the title match with wins over French lucky loser Corentin Denolly, Denis Istomin from Uzbekistan, qualifier Michael Geerts from Belgium and No. 3 seed Arthur Rinderknech from France.
Bemelmans struck four aces in the final, winning 92 per cent of his first-service points to seal victory in one hour and 10 minutes.
In the 28th edition of @ChallengerChbg, the tournament has its first Belgian winner.

By lifting his sixth ATP Challenger career trophy, his first since winning the 2017 Koblenz Open in Germany, Bemelmans took away from the northwestern French department of Manche €12,250 in prize money as well as 100 ATP-Ranking points.
Klein/Molcan take doubles title
On Saturday, Lukas Klein and Alex Molcan of Slovakia took the doubles title. The pair fought past French duo of Antoine Hoang and Albano Olivetti 1-6, 7-5, 10-6. The encounter one hour and 14 minutes. lasted Klein and Molcan split €5,250 in prize money and earn 100 ATP Doubles Ranking points.
