Tommy Paul goes back to back in Florida, winning the $10,000 City of Sunrise Tennis Classic ITF Future event. The 18-year-old US-American defeated third seed Frenchman Adrien Puget in Sunday’s final, winning 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. Paul, who was the clay court tournament’s best ranked player, won 69% of his first service points and converted four of his 12 break points to prevail in one hour and 51 minutes.
It was Paul’s second ITF Pro Circuit title within the last 14 days. The teenager has already lifted the trophy at the $10,000 tournament in Plantation last week. Paul takes away $1,440 in prize money as well as 18 ATP ranking points and will continue his clay court swing, playing the $50,000 ATP Challenger in Bucaramanga next. The world number 277 received a wild card and will face Spaniard Jordi Samper-Montana in the first round.
Isak Arvidsson and Kaichi Uchida claimed the doubles titel in Sunrise, winning 6-4, 6-4 against Peter Nagy and Denis Shapovalov in only 52 minutes.
