The Portuguese Tennis Federation (FPT) announced on Thursday that a new ATP Challenger 125 tournament has been added to the 2021 calendar. The Oeiras Open will be held at the Complexo Desportivo Nacional do Jamor in Oeiras between 16 and 23 May and offers a total prize money of €132,280.
“That’s big news. We are going to host an ATP Challenger 125 tournament, which is the highest category on the ATP Challenger Tour. It is a signal that the ATP trusts in our organization of the events we will do everything to continue to represent Portuguese tennis in the best way,” said Vasco Costa, president of the FPT.

Earlier this year, the Challenger circuit returned to Portugal on March 28 with two ATP Challenger 50 clay-court tournaments, organized by the Portuguese Tennis Federation at the the same venue.
ATP Challenger tournaments confirmed in Portugal in 2021:
– ATP Challenger 50 Oeiras Open I – March 28 to April 4 (already played)
– ATP Challenger 50 Oeiras Open II – April 4th to 11th (already played)
– ATP Challenger 125 Oeiras Open – 16 to 23 May (to be played)
– ATP Challenger 50 Oeiras Open III – 23 to 30 May (to be played)
