#NextGenATP Argentine Sebastian Baez captured his fifth ATP Challenger Tour title of the season, winning the $52,080 DOVE MEN+CARE Challenger Circuit Buenos Aires hosted by the Racket Club in Argentina’s capital city. The No. 7 seed of the $52,080 clay-court event upset the tournament’s top seed Thiago Monteiro from Brazil 6-4, 6-0 in Sunday’s singles final.

Baez sent down five aces and, won 83 per cent of his first-service points, saved both break points he faced and capitalized on four of his own 10 break-point chances to prevail after one hour and 15 minutes.

The 20-year-old became the youngest player in ATP Challenger history to claim five trophies in one season. Baez previously won three tournaments in Chile: in Concepcion and twice in Santiago, as well as in Zagreb, Croatia.

“The support and warmth of the crowd and my family was incredible this week,” said World No. 124 Baez, who pocketed in Buenos Aires $7,200 in prize money as well as 80 ATP Ranking points, and is getting closer to the Top 100. “This is the biggest title of my career, for the level I had all week. I gave everything I had on the court. My goal remains the same: to continue improving in every tournament. The results will follow. With my team, we will move towards that objective. I would not be where I am today without them.”
