World No. 195 Susan Bandecchi of Switzerland captured the title of the Raiffeisen ITF Damen 2021 Val Gardena – Südtirol. The No. 5 seed of the ITF World Tennis Tour W25 hard-court event, hosted by the Tennis Club Ortisei in South Tyrol, Italy defeated Karman Kaur Thandi of India 6-4, 6-4 in Saturday’s singles final.
Bandecchi withstood 10 aces and broke Thandi’s serve two times to seal victory in one hour and 44 minutes.

The 23-year-old battled her way to the championship match with wins in the bottom half of the draw over her compatriot and qualifier Fiona Ganz, Italian Melania Delai, No. 3 seed Timea Babos from Hungary and Natalija Stevanovic of Serbia.
Bandecchi lifted her third career trophy on the Pro Circuit following her triumphs on home soil in Sion 2017, Akko in Israel 2019 and Lousada in Portugal last year.
On Friday, Badecchi also clinched the doubles title alongside Ylena In-Albon from Switzerland. The top seeds fought past No. 2 seeds Eudice Wong Chong from Hong Kong, China, and Moyuka Uchiyama of Japan 6-2, 1-6, 10-5. The encounter lasted one hour and six minutes.
