Zsombor Velcz wins his first title on the Pro Circuit in Gurugram, India

M15 Gurugram IND – Zsombor Velcz wins maiden title

Zsombor Velcz clinched the title of the M15 Gurugram, hosted by the venue of Tennis Project, to lift his first singles trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

The 19-year-old Hungarian battled through the top half of the draw, beating Indian wild card entry Ishaque Eqbal in the stage of the final four in straight sets.

US-American No. 3 seed Dusty H. Boyer fought past Nitin Kumar Sinha from India in the semi-finals in three sets.

Velcz converted five of his 12 break-point chances in the championship match and won 20 points more to secure a 6-3, 6-2 victory in 90 minutes. 

M15 Ostrava CZE – Andrew Paulson victorious on home soil

The Ostra Indoor Cup 2021, held at TK TC Ostrava, concluded with the title win of Andrew Paulson.

The 20-year-old Czech advanced to the final with a straight-set victory over Swiss No. 5 seed Remy Bertola.

German No. 3 seed Marvin Moeller eased past eighth-seeded Martin Krumich from the Czech Republic in the semi-finals in two sets to book his second consecutive final on Czech soil.

Unseeded Paulson fired 10 aces in the title match and gained two breaks to prevail 6-3, 7-6 after almost two hours. The Prague native lifted his second career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour following his maiden title win in Liberec 2019. 

M15 Guatemala GUA – Colin Sinclair triumphs in Central America 

Colin Sinclair was crowned champion at the M15 Guatemala tournament hosted by Federacion National de Tenis Zona 15.

The 26-year-old from the Northern Mariana Islands took the last step to the final by defeating Taha Baadi from Canada in two sets.

Marco Brugnerotto, No. 5 seed from Italy, cruised past No. 8 seeded Colombian Alejandro Hoyos Franco in the semi-finals in straight sets.

No. 4 seed Sinclair broke his left-handed rival in the championship match five times to seal a 6-1, 5-7, 6-4 victory in about two hours of play. The Brisbane resident, who played college tennis for the Cornell University and represented the United States during this period, celebrated his second singles title on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

M15 Antalya TUR – Daniel Michalski captures back-to-back titles 

Following his triumph at the same place last week, Daniel Michalski clinched another trophy at the Antalya Series, held at Club Megasaray in Belek. 

The Polish No. 2 seed booked the spot in another final with a straight-set win against No. 3 seeded German Lucas Gerch, who played college tennis for the Oklahoma State University.

Cezar Cretu battled past fellow Romanian and No. 6 seed Mircea-Alexandru Jecan in the semi-finals after two sets. 

Twenty-one-year-old Michalski gained two breaks more in the title match to claim a 7-6, 6-2 win after about two hours. The Warsaw native lifted his fifth singles trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour, all of them on clay. 

M15 Cordoba ARG – Juan Bautista Torres prevails in Argentina

Juan Bautista Torres won the trophy of the Copa Federacion Cordobesa de Tenis, held at Kempes Tenis.

In the all-Argentinian semi-finals, the No. 2 seed benefited from the retirement of Juan Bautista Otegui after four games.

The tournament’s top seed Francisco Comesana booked his spot in the final by defeating No. 3 seed Alejo Lorenzo Lingua Lavallen in three sets.

Buenos Aires-born Bautista Torres broke his rival in the championship match five times and lost one service game to succeed 6-2, 6-2 after one hour and 38 minutes. The 19-year-old celebrated his third singles title on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

M15 Kazan RUS – Alibek Kachmazov triumphs on home soil

The Tatarstan Open 2021, hosted by the Kazan Tennis Academy, concluded with the title win of Alibek Kachmazov.

The 19-year-old benefited in the all-Russian semifinal-battle from the retirement of No. 3 seeded Savriyan Danilov at the score of four games all in the deciding set.

Martin Borisiouk won the encounter of the Belarusian qualifiers in the stage of the last four versus Alexander Zgirovski in three sets. 

No. 2 seeded Kachmazov converted four of his seven break-point opportunities in the title match without dropping a service game to secure a 6-2, 6-2 victory in 84 minutes. The Vladikavkaz native lifted his third career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour, all of them won this season.

M15 Cairo EGY – Felix Gill clinches maiden trophy

Felix Gill is the champion of the Egypt Men’s Future, held at Al-Solaimaneyah Tennis Center in Cairo. 

The British No. 7 seed booked the spot in the final with a straight-set win against No. 5 seeded Italian Simone Roncalli. 

Italian qualifier Gianluca Acquaroli continued his great run by beating Jonathan Gray from Great Britain in the semi-finals in two sets. 

Left-handed Gill outpointed his rival in the championship match 75-59 to prevail 7-6, 6-2 after one hour and 51 minutes. The 19-year-old celebrated his first singles title on the Pro Circuit.

M15 Cancun MEX – Nam Hoang Ly prevails in Yucatan

Nam Hoang Ly took the title of the World Tennis Tour Cancun, hosted by Cancun Tennis Complex

The No. 3 seed from Vietnam eased past US-American teenager Dali Blanch in the semi-finals in three sets. 

British No. 7 seed Giles Hussey knocked off the tournament’s top favourite Makoto Ochi from Japan in the stage of the last four in three sets. 

Ho Chi Minh-born Ly won 79 per cent of his first-service points and broke his rival’s serve three times in the title match to seal a 6-4, 6-4 win after one hour and 42 minutes. The 24-year-old lifted his third career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

M15 Heraklion GRE – Teenager Jack Pinnington Jones prevails in Crete 

Eighteen-year-old Jack Pinnington Jones captured the trophy of the M15 Heraklion, held at Lyttos Beach Tennis Academy. 

The former junior’s World No. 6 won the all-British semifinal-clash against qualifier Charles Broom in two sets.

Romanian qualifier Nicholas David Ionel made the last step to the final by defeating German No. 4 seed Kai Wehnelt in straight sets. 

Unseeded Pinnington Jones broke his opponent in the championship match five times and lost two service games to triumph 7-6, 6-1 after one hour and 40 minutes. Following his maiden championship in Antalya earlier this season, the Kingston Upon Thames native celebrated his second singles title on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

M15 Monastir TUN – Guy den Ouden captures fourth title of the season 

Guy den Ouden emerged victorious at the Magic Hotel Tours tournament, hosted by Hotel Skanes Family in Monastir. 

The 19-year-old Dutch stopped the run of Polish qualifier Martyn Pawelski in the stage of the final four in straight sets.

Brazilian No. 5 seed Gabriel Decamps rallied past Maks Kasnikowski from Poland in the semi-finals in three sets. 

No. 3 seed den Ouden capitalized on four of his nine break-point opportunities in the title match and lost one service game to claim a 6-3, 6-4 victory in 83 minutes. The college player for the Pepperdyne University lifted his fourth career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour, his fourth of the season.
