Mats Moraing of Germany captured his fifth ATP Challenger career crown by lifting the trophy of the inaugural Torino Challenger hosted by the Circolo Della Stampa Sporting in Turin, Italy.
The No. 2 seed of the €45,730 ATP Challenger Tour indoor hard-court event defeated top-seeded Frenchman Quentin Halys 7-6(11), 6-3 in the singles final on Sunday afternoon.
Moraing advanced to the title match with wins over Manuel Guinard of France, Dutch qualifier Gijs Brouwer, Romanian qualifier Filip Cristian Jianu and No. 3 seed Vasek Pospisil of Canada.
The World No.150 from Mülheim an der Ruhr struck 15 aces and won 84 per cent of his first-service points. Moraing saved all three break-points he faced and gained the decisive break in the sixth game of the second set to secure victory in one hour and 12 minutes.

“Grazie Turin, first title of the year,” Moraing wrote on Instagram.
Moraing, who celebrated his maiden Challenger triumph on home soil at the 2018 Koblenz Open followed by his runs to the titles in Amersfoort, Netherlands 2019, Forli, Italy and Tulln, Austria 2021, earned €6,190 in prize money as well as 80 ATP Ranking points.
