Jaume Munar and Pedro Cachin will compete in Sunday’s singles final of the AnyTech365 Andalucia Open. On a sunny Saturday in Marbella, home favourite Munar defeated No. 4 seed Jiri Vesely from the Czech Republic 6-3, 6-4.

The sixth favourite of the ATP Challenger Tour 125 clay-court tournament capitalized on three of his seven break-point chances to secure victory in one hour and 16 minutes.

Earlier on Estadio Manolo Santana, Cachin edged past No. 3 seed and 2019 champion Pablo Andujar from Spain 5-7, 6-1, 6-3. The 26-year-old alternate from Argentina sent down eight aces and won 72 per cent of his first-service points to prevail after two hours and 28 minutes.

Munar is bidding for his seventh ATP Challenger career crown, his first of the season. The Mallorca native finished runner-up three times in Marbella and will play his fourth consecutive title match at the Club de Tenis Puente Romano. Cachin could lift his second trophy following his maiden triumph at the Oeiras Open 2 in Portugal in April last year. Munar won all of the previous five meetings with Cachin and dropped only one set.

Jebavy/Oswald prevail in doubles

In other action, Roman Jebavy from the Czech Republic and Philipp Oswald of Austria captured the doubles title. The No. 4 seeds fought past second seeds Hugo Nys of Monaco and Jan Zielinski from Poland 7-6(6), 3-6, 10-3. The encounter lasted one hour and 37 minutes.

By winning their first team title, Jebavy and Oswald split €10,770 in prize money and took away from the Costa del Sol 125 ATP Doubles Ranking points.
