MEERBUSCH/STARNBERG, April 26, 2022
The entry list for the Kirschbaum International has been revealed. The ITF World Tennis Tour M15 event will be held from May 1 to 8 at the TeReMee in Meerbusch, Germany.
The field will be led by World No. 347 Louis Wessels. The 23-year-old German will be seeking his seventh career title on the ITF Pro Circuit. Wessels will be joined by 19-year-old Romanian Nicholas David Ionel, winner of the 2020 Australian Open boys’ doubles title. Veterans Christopher Heyman of Belgium and Frenchman Kenny de Schepper are also expected to play in Meerbusch.
A couple of young Germans will also be part of the line-up featuring 20-year-old Henri Squire and the country’s best-ranked teenager Max Hans Rehberg, who made his ATP Tour main draw debut in Munich this week.
“The city of Meerbusch can be proud to welcome such great players as guests,” said organizer Marc Raffel. “In addition to Henri Square, I see former World No. 62 Kenny de Schepper or the only 19-year-old Romanian shooting star Nicholas David Ionel, currently ranked World No. 351, as the main contenders for the title. However, it will be a tough competition, so that a lot is possible.”

This year’s Kirschbaum Internation singles champion will earn in addition to the prize money and 10 ATP Ranking points the new B&B Hotels Tennis Trophy.
