FFT Press Release, May 4, 2022

A total of €43.6m will be awarded in prize money at Roland-Garros 2022, an increase of a little over 6.8% in comparison to 2019, the last edition of the tournament held in normal circumstances.

The prize money for the men’s and women’s singles (main draw) is 1.43% higher than in 2019, with the first-round allocation having been increased significantly (up 35% on 2019 and 3% on 2021).

The pairs contesting the men’s and women’s doubles are playing for 6.10% more money than in 2019.

The pot for the qualifying competitions has also increased, to the tune of 66% more than in 2019 and 30% more than in 2021.

The increase in prize money for the first round of the singles main draws and the qualifying competitions is designed to help the players who have suffered the most as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The prize money awarded in this year’s quad wheelchair singles and doubles competitions has been brought into line with the wheelchair events.
