M15 Caloundra AUS – Dane Sweeny triumphs again on home soil

Dane Sweeny won the trophy of the Caloundra International #1, hosted by Sunshine Coast Tennis Centre.

The 21-year-old Australian eased past Japanese No. 3 seed Rimpei Kawakami in the semi-finals in three sets.

No. 6 seed Thomas Fancutt set the all-Australian final with a straight-set win against No. 4 seeded Colin Sinclair from the Northern Mariana Islands.

Penrith-born Sweeny converted four of his 11 break-point opportunities and dropped two service-games in the championship match to seal a 6-3, 6-4 victory in one hour and 41 minutes. The top seed celebrated his third singles title on the ITF World Tennis Tour following his back-to-back titles in Canberra earlier this season.

M25 Esch/Alzette LUX – Pol Martin Tiffon remains solid on clay 

The Sudstroum Open, held at Tennis Club Esch, concluded with the title win of Pol Martin Tiffon.

The 22-year-old Spaniard moved to the final with a straight-set win against No. 3 seed Nick Hardt from Dominican Republic.

German No. 4 seed Sebastian Fanselow, who played college Tennis for Pepperdine University, battled past No. 5 seed Yshai Oliel from Israel in the semi-finals in three sets.

Top seeded Martin Tiffon won 83 per cent of his first-service points in the title match and gained the only five breaks to succeed 6-2, 6-0 in 63 minutes. The Barcelona native lifted his fifth clay-court trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour and his third of the season.

M25 Radomlje SLO – Oleksandr Ovcharenko claims back-to-back titles in Slovenia

Oleksandr Ovcharenko was crowned champion at the ITF WTT Radomlje 2022, hosted by Teniski Klub Radomlje.

The Ukrainian No. 8 seed stopped wild card entry Sebastian Dominko from Slovenia in the stage of the last four in straight sets.

Argentinian No. 5 seed Matias Zuka battled through the top half of the draw, beating No. 7 seeded Bogdan Bobrov in the semi-finals in three sets.

Kiev-born Ovcharenko sent down six aces and earned two breaks more in the championship match to prevail 6-4, 6-3 after one hour and 45 minutes. The 20-year-old celebrated his third career title on the ITF World Tennis Tour, all of them achieved on clay in 2022.

M25 Gandia ESP – Carlos Lopez Montagud wins fourth title of the season

Carlos Lopez Montagud was victorious at the Torneo Orysol ITF Playa de Gandia, held at Club Tenis Gandia.

In the all-Spanish semi-finals, the No. 3 seed cruised past teenager Max Alcala Gurri in straight sets.

Javier Barranco Cosano, the tournament’s top seed, defeated David Jorda Sanchis in the stage of the final four in three sets.

In the title match with both players scoring 109 points, Algemesi-born Lopez Montagud struck nine aces and gained one break more to claim victory with 6-7, 6-4, 7-5 in more than three hours. The twenty-two-year-old lifted his fourth career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour, all of them won on clay this season.

M25 Idanha-a-Nova POR – Rio Noguchi captures back-to-back titles in Portugal 

Rio Noguchi clinched another trophy of the Internacionais de Tenis de Idanha-a-Nova, hosted by Clube de Tenis de Idanha-a-Nova.

The 23-year-old Japanese booked another spot in the final with a straight-set win versus Portuguese No. 3 seed Duarte Vale, who played college tennis for the University of Florida.

Israeli No. 4 seed Ben Patael beat the tournament’s top favourite Filip Peliwo from Poland in the semi-finals in two sets.

Fukoka-born Noguchi earned two breaks and 12 points more in the championship match to seal a 6-2, 7-6 win after one hour and 50 minutes. The No. 2 seed celebrated his fifth career title on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

M25 Champaign USA – Ethan Quinn triumphs in Illinois

Local hero Ethan Quinn won the title of the Fighting Illini Open, hosted by Atkins Tennis Center.

In the all-US-American semi-finals, the 18-year-old battled past No. 8 seed Cannon Kingsley in three sets.

Qualifier Stefan Dostanic continued his great run, defeating his countryman Patrick Kypson in the stage of the final four in straight sets.

Unseeded Quinn capitalized on three of his 13 break-point chances in the title match without dropping a service-game to get a 6-4, 6-7, 6-2 victory after two hours and 36 minutes. The teenager celebrated his second career title following his maiden championship on home soil in San Diego last month.

M15 Innsbruck AUT – Sandro Kopp earns maiden trophy 

The ITF Future Innsbruck Tirol, held at TK IEV Med-El, concluded with the title win of local hero Sandro Kopp.

The 22-year-old Austrian knocked off French top seed Valentin Vacherot in the stage of the last four in three sets.

Max Houkes from the Netherlands benefited in the semi-finals from the retirement of Italian Matteo Donati at the score of 3-6, 6-1, 1-0.

No. 4 seeded Kopp broke his opponent of the same age in the championship match seven times and lost four service-games to triumph 5-7, 6-1, 6-2 after two hours and 42 minutes. The Schwaz native, who is based at the ESTESS Tennis Academy in Seefeld, lifted his first singles trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

M15 Gubbio ITA – Francesco Forti returns to winners’ circle

Francesco Forti captureed the trophy of the M15 Gubbio tournament hosted by Circolo Tennis Gubbio.

The fourth seed from Italy edged out French No. 8 seed and Juniors World No. 1 Gabriel Debru in the semi-finals in three sets. Sixteen-year-old Debru was crowned Roland Garros Junior champion this year.

Moroccan qualifier Younes Lalami Laaroussi continued his great run by beating Italian No. 2 seed Luca Potenza in the stage of the final four in three sets.

Twenty-two-year-old Forti gained two breaks and 12 points more in the title match to claim a 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 victory in about two hours. The Cesena native celebrated his second singles title on the ITF World Tennis Tour following his maiden championship on home soil in 2019.

M15 Colombo SRI – Manish Sureshkumar prevails in Sri Lanka

Manish Sureshkumar is the champion of the Sri Lanka Futures 1, held at the venue of the Sri Lanka Tennis Association. 

The 22-year-old Indian knocked out Ukrainian No. 2 seed Eric Vanshelboim in the semi-finals in three sets. 

Top seeded Frenchman Quentin Folliot booked the spot in the final with a three-set win versus Indian No. 4 seed Digvijay Pratap Singh. 

Chennai-born Sureshkumar converted all of his six break-point opportunities in the championship match by dropping two service-games to succeed 6-4, 6-0 in 75 minutes. The No. 3 seed lifted his third career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

M15 Seremban MAS – Daisuke Sumizawa earns maiden trophy 

Daisuke Sumizawa took the title of the M15 Seremban tournament, hosted by Negeri Sembilian Tennis Centre of Excellence in Malaysia, without losing a set during the tournament.

The 23-year-old Japanese cruised past Korean No. 6 seed Uisung Park, who was ranked World No. 3 as a junior, in the semi-finals in straight sets.

No. 3 seed Shinji Hazawa set the all-Japanese final with a three-set victory against Ji Hoon Son from the Korean Republic.

Unseeded Sumizawa capitalized on five of his 18 break-point chances in the title match without losing a service game to seal a 6-0, 6-2 victory in 90 minutes. The Yokohama native celebrated his first singles title on the Pro Circuit.

M15 Cancun MEX – Enzo Wallart wins debut title 

Enzo Wallart emerged victorious at the World Tennis Tour Cancun 2022, held at Cancun Tennis Complex. 

The No. 6 seed took the last step to the final by defeating Masamichi Imamura from Japan in straight sets. 

No. 5 seeded Chilean Matias Soto fought past last week’s Cancun-champion Adam Walton from Australia in the semi-finals in three sets. 

Frenchman Wallart sent down nine aces in the championship match and won 75 per cent of his first-service points to prevail 6-3, 6-3 lasting one hour and 36 minutes. The 25-year-old lifted his first trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

M15 Monastir TUN – Abedallah Shelbayh captures back-to-back titles

Following his maiden triumph at the same place last week, left-handed teenager Abdellah Shelbayh clinched another trophy at the Magic Hotel Tours tournament, hosted by Hotel Skanes Family in Monastir. 

The 18-year-old from Jordan advanced to the final with a straight-set win versus Tao Mu from China.

The tournament’s top favourite Skander Mansouri from Tunisia rallied past French No. 7 seed Cyril Vandermeersch in the semi-finals in two sets.

Junior entry Shelbayh withstood the 14 aces of his 27-year-old rival and earned the only break in the title match to claim a 7-6, 6-4 win after one hour and 53 minutes. The college player for the University of Florida, who did not drop a set the entire week, celebrated his second singles title on the ITF World Tennis Tour.
