Kosmos Tennis Press Release, September 19, 2022
Between 13–18 September, a total of 113,268 people attended the Group Stage of the Davis Cup by Rakuten Finals 2022 across the four cities of Bologna, Valencia, Hamburg and Glasgow. This mirrors the numbers achieved in 2021 for the Group Stage and Knockout Stage combined, meaning the 2022 total will be a significant increase on previous years. “It’s a very similar number to the one we had for the whole competition in 2019 and 2021. So that means that we are still expecting another 50,000 to 60,000 people in Malaga. The improvement in terms of attendance, occupancy and fan engagement, it’s going to be, in our view, terrific,” Enric Rojas, CEO of Kosmos, said today. Sunday 18 September, the last day of the Group Stage competition, saw the highest single-day attendance figures with a total of 26,445 people across the four venues. With more than two months to go until the Final 8, which takes place at the Palacio de Deportes José María Martín Carpena in Malaga from 22 to 27 November, more than 20,000 tickets have already been sold, and organisers hope that the venue will be at full capacity to crown the tennis world champions. Tickets are available here with several different packages available for fans.
