There is also a three-way battle for year-end No. 1 in the Pepperstone ATP Rankings. Spanish superstar Rafael Nadal and Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece will try to snag top spot from Carlos Alcaraz of Spain.
Novak Djokovic of Serbia is pursuing a record-tying sixth trophy at the season finale and his first since 2015. Other former singles champions in the field are Tsitsipas (2019) and Daniil Medvedev from Russia (2020).
Nadal, Casper Ruud of Norway, Canadian youngster Felix Auger-Aliassime, Andrey Rublev of Russia and US-American Taylor Fritz will all try to secure their first crown at the year-end championships.
