Tournament Director Ralf Weber and wife Irina welcomed numerous ATP professionals to the traditional Players’ Party at the 30th TERRA WORTMANN OPEN on Tuesday evening – true to the motto: First the work, then the pleasure and relaxation on the terrace of the OWL Event Center.

Among others, the tournament’s top four players – Daniil Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Andrey Rublev and Jannik Sinner – as well as Olympic champion Alexander Zverev and his girlfriend Sophia Thomalla were part of the party. Two-time Grand Slam doubles champions Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies also enjoyed the informal atmosphere on a balmy summer evening.

Federer honored on Center Court

On Wednesday, Ralf Weber honored record champion Roger Federer on the Center Court for his exceptional merits to Germany’s most important grass-court event. “It’s an emotional moment to see you back here in Halle, in front of the fans,” Weber said during the ceremony at the OWL ARENA.

“You have always been an excellent ambassador for the tournament with your humility and closeness.” Weber paid tribute to the special relationship of trust over the past decades and spoke of a “bond that is anything but self-evident.”
