Vit Kopriva has captured the title of the third edition of the Internazionali Di Tennis Verona held at the Circolo Tennis Scaligero in Verona, Italy. The 26-year-old Czech alternate came back from a set down to outlast Vitaliy Sachko from Ukraine 1-6, 7-6(3), 6-2 in Sunday’s singles final of the ATP Challenger Tour 100 clay-court event.

Kopriva defeated French qualifier Valentin Royer, Argentine Marco Trungelliti, Luciano Darderi of Italy and qualifier Mathias Bourgue of France en route to the championship match.

The World No. 184 capitalized on four of his 10 break-point chances to secure victory in two hours and 31 minutes.

“Thanks to the spectators for the support and the wonderful experience here in Verona. I will promise to come back here again next year,” said Kopriva.

By winning his second ATP Challenger Tour title following his maiden triumph on home soil in Prostejov last year, Kopriva pocketed €16,020 in prize money as well as 100 ATP Ranking points.
