After consecutive Masters 1000 events in Toronto and Cincinnati, the ATP Tour moves to North Carolina ahead of the US Open. The North American hard-court swing continues this week at the Winston-Salem Open, where Croatia’s Borna Coric is the top seed at the ATP 250 event. After a first-round bye, the World No. 16 will open his title bid against either Australian alternate Rinky Hijikata or a qualifier.
Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor is seeded second and leads the bottom half of the draw. He will take on the winner of the encounter between Nuno Borges of Portugal and Briton Jack Draper. Sebastian Korda from the United States, Austrian Dominic Thiem, Jiri Lehecka from the Czech Republic and #NextGenATP Frenchman Arthur Fils are among those in action at the hard-court tournament, to be held from 20-26 August.
