Serbian NextGenATP Finals contender Hamad Medjedovic is the champion of the fifth edition of the Rafa Nadal Open by Movistar. The No. 2 seed of the ATP Challenger Tour 75 hard-court event in Manacor, Mallorca defeated seventh favourite Harold Mayot of France 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 in Sunday evening’s singles championship match.
In front of packed stands and under the lights on Center Court at the Rafa Nadal Academy, Medjedovic fired 14 aces, won 71 per cent of his first-service points and broke his rival’s serve five times to seal victory in one hour and 49 minutes.

The 20-year-old from Novi Pazar, who is coached by former World No. 12 Viktor Troicki and is being ranked ninth in the ‘Race to Jeddah’, clinched his fourth ATP Challenger Tour career title, his third of the season following his triumphs in Szekesfehervar, Hungary and Mauthausen, Austria.
World No. 143 Medjedovic pocketed €9,880 in prize money as well as 75 ATP Ranking points.
