“He started incredibly well,” said Draper, who earned €9,880 in prize money as well as 75 ATP Ranking points. “I was a bit slow and unresponsive after yesterday’s tough battle. But I fought hard to change my energy within the match and find a way to turn it around. I’m proud of my fighting spirit.”
The World No. 91 captured his fifth ATP Challenger Tour career title, his first of the season. “I’ve won four Challengers in Italy already. I always play well here because there’s a passionate audience; they love tennis, and I’m grateful for the way they transmit energy. It’s great to play in front of so many people cheering for us.”
