DELRAY BEACH, Fla., November 5, 2023 (Press Release)

A third player ranked among the world’s Top 20 has committed to play the Delray Beach Open, Feb. 9-18, as organizers announced the return of No. 18 Cameron Norrie, the 2022 champion from Great Britain. He joins defending champion and world No. 10 Taylor Fritz and No. 13 Tommy Paul, the top two Americans in the rankings.

Norrie became just the second top seed in tournament history to win the title, defeating 2020 champion and second seed Reilly Opelka in a thrilling final 7-6(1), 7-6(4). Two months after winning the Delray Beach title, Norrie became the fourth Briton ever to be ranked among the world’s Top 10 in the ATP rankings. Four months after his Delray victory he reached his first Grand Slam semifinal at Wimbledon.

This year, Norrie notched his career-best wins over two world No. 2 players from Spain – Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz. He beat Alcaraz in the Rio de Janeiro final for his fifth title in three years. In 2021, Norrie won his first at Los Cabos and was the first British player to win the Masters 1000 Indian Wells title in the tournament’s 46-year history. Before turning pro, Norrie was the No. 1-ranked college player in 2017 at Texas Christian University.

Another past DBO champion and a recent finalist made waves in the latter part of this tennis season. Hubert Hurkacz, the 2021 winner, won the Masters 1000 in Shanghai and was a finalist in Basel, Switzerland, to qualify as an alternate for the year-end ATP Finals and finish the season ranked in the Top 10 at No. 9. Last year’s finalist Miomir Kecmanovic reached the semifinals in Stockholm with a win over world No. 6 Holger Rune and won two singles matches to lead his Serbian team to the Davis Cup semifinals.

Returning for the ATP Champions Tour legends event opening weekend Feb. 9-11 are fan favorites and French Open champions Luke and Murphy Jensen along with 2016 DBO champion and former world No. 11 Sam Querrey. They will join Bob and Mike Bryan, the most successful doubles team in the history of the sport, and 2006 Delray Beach Open champion Tommy Haas, who reached the No. 2 world ranking.

The legends event coincides with qualifying for the ATP 250 tournament, while the singles and doubles main draw action starts Monday, Feb. 12 and concludes with the finals on Sunday, Feb. 18.

Delray Beach Open tickets and parties make great holiday gifts. New in 2024, the tournament is adding a Burgers, Bourbon & Brew party and Championship Weekend Brunches to the list of on-site special events that includes Ladies’ Day Luncheons, Tacos, Tequila & Tennis and the Ultimate Pairing event – Game, Set, Pour, as well as USTA Florida Kids Day, Pride Night, Senior Day specials and group discounts. Visit DelrayBeachOpen.com or call 561-330-6000 for information and tickets.

Additional player commitments will be announced in the coming weeks and the full player list for next year’s Delray Beach Open will be released in January.
