Rogerio Dutra Silva will be the only seeded player making it into the quarterfinals of the €85,000 BNP Paribas Primrose in Bordeuax. The tournament’s number seven eased past Alejandro Falla on Thursday.

Dutra Silva, who is the current world number 94, saved the only break point he faced, converting four of his own to seal a 6-1, 6-2 victory in one hour and four minutes.

The 32-year-old Brazilian will take on Daniil Medvedev in the stage of the final eight. The Russian qualifier upset Daniel Gimeno-Traver, winning 6-4, 6-2. Medvedev saved all eight break points facing and capitalized on three of his own chances to prevail in one hour and 13 minutes.

“It will be really tough,” told Dutra Silva about his next opponent. “I will try to do my best and hope to appear in the final on Sunday.”

Máximo Gonzalez ended the winning of the Thiago Monteiro, who captured his maiden Challenger title in Aix-en-Provence last Sunday. The 32-year-old Argentine won 66% of his first service points, celebrating a 6-3, 6-7, 6-3 win in two hours and 24 minutes.

Gonzalez will face with Andre Ghem another Brazilian in the quarterfinal. The world number 167 from Porto Alegre dismissed US-American teenager Jared Donaldson 6-3, 6-4 in one hour and 23 minutes.

“I was very solid throughout the match and was able to control the it. I was smart on court today and happy to be through,” Ghem told.
